in 1981, a 16 year old talked his mom into cosigning for his first car... a Superbird that was in parts. Coolest mom ever award recipient if I had my way

Now restored and veteran of a cross country cruise, the 60,000 mile Superbird was in pieces when a 16 year old kid found it, talked his mom into co-singing a loan for it, and then he sorta had it running but mostly stored for the next 22 years. 1984-2006

He then got the ambition to get it right and get it on the road.. and relied on the help of his buddy that had been with him to pick it up on day one. Now that friend is a mechanic, and mostly responsible for getting everything in running condition, so reliable that the 2 weeks on the road were trouble free.
