40 years later, do you remember the Gas Shortage of 1973?

  1. All too well guys. That whole episode was a huge debacle on the part of the OPEC embargo, oil companies, government and to some measure, the auto manufactures. And, if you want, include station owners with gouging. In the end costing the consumer billions of dollars, and life. Ironically the government could have eradicated the problem over night (according to experts) by putting military pressure on OPEC, and threaten to nationalize tho oil companies. However, when the price of gasoline went up the shortage diapered.
