the US Army Air Corps used this "motorized tobaggan" on the Air Force base in Presque Isle Maine (1943 Eliason Motor Tobaggan)

I can't recall where I found the photo.

It's very cool to see that someone innovated a recognizable snowmobile bogey structure, seat and gas tank similar locations to modern snowmobiles... and even the dual ski steering (in front of the engine only) looks the same as the 1968 Ski Doo in the previous post
